Mercedes (Mercy) graduated from Miami Dade College with an Associate degree in Legal Assistance and later received a Paralegal Certificate at the UGA Center for Legal Studies.

Mercy worked as a Legal Secretary and Litigation Paralegal in Miami, Florida for over 15 years. Upon moving to Johns Creek, Georgia in 2008 she worked as an in-house Paralegal in Roswell, GA. She worked for more than 10 years as an Administrative Assistant at a non-profit organization in Johns Creek accrediting Physician Assistant programs nationwide.

Mercy is now excited to return to the legal field and joining the team at Hughes & Associates where she assists the Probate Division with the administration of Estates, probating Wills, guardianships, and conservatorships.

Mercy is a native of Cuba, grew up in South Florida, and is fluent in Spanish. She lives in Suwanee with her husband with whom she enjoys hiking and taking day trips to the mountains.

Mercy is active in her church, enjoys reading and spending time with her two grown children
and her extended family.
